World Bank Minority Business Outreach Initiative Workshop in San Juan, Puerto Rico

On February 16th and 17th, Mr. Spiros Voyadzis, CEO of PFD Group, participated in the World Bank Minority Business Outreach Initiative in San Juan, Puerto Rico in the first of a series of four Workshops total. The remaining three Workshops will take place in March in the following locations: March 6th and 7th in Jackson, Mississippi, March 9th and 10th in Birmingham, Alabama, and March 16th and 17th in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 

Geared towards minority and women-owned businesses, the Puerto Rico Workshop was composed of 30+ participants that are seeking international expansion in one of the following fields: environment and clean technologies, renewable energy, waste management and sanitation, water, transportation, infrastructure design and construction, financial services, digital services and smart platforms, agriculture, education, health industries, including mosquito eradication. Spiros organized an interactive Workshop on how private sector companies can win contracts funded by the MDBs. The morning session of the Workshop included an introduction and overview of PFD Group’s methodology, how COVID-19 and the war in Ukraine have impacted the MDB market and in what ways can the private sector adapt to these challenges that they may face during the bidding process. During the afternoon session, participants were asked to analyze redacted Expressions of Interest and Tenders to better understand what a winning proposals look like. The second day of the Workshop was devoted to 1 to 1 meetings with the organizers.
